CHANGE TO APPOINTING REFEERE`s & CONTACTING THEM

FOR THE UNDER 14s LEAGUE

From Sunday 30th August the way in which Referees are appointed and the way in which teams contact them, will change due to the number of teams not contacting their appointed referee or referees not returning messages that have been left on their answer machine.

The process will now be :

1/ Referees will telephone me a Fixture Secretary on a Sunday evening between 6pm - 8pm and i will appoint them a Fixture

2/ Fixtures will then be placed on the website with the Referees name attached.

3/ Teams are then required to telephone their referee by no later than 9pm on a Monday.

4. If a referee has not recieved information from the home team by 9pm on the Monday. He will then inform me as Fixture Secretary and teams will be fined.



All teams are reminded that the Fixture Secretaries are volunteers. Their workload is now becoming ever more increased by some teams refusing to follow the rules concerning referee notification.

Implementing the above, should considerably reduce the amount of calls being made by Teams / Referee`s & Fixture Secretaries.

 Please remember to call your appointed referee no later than 9pm 6 days before your matches.

The process at Under 14s will now be :

1/ Referees will telephone me on a Sunday evening between 6pm - 8pm where they will be issued with a

  Fixture for the following Saturday ( 7 days before any fixture Fixtures - including midweek fixtures ).

2/ Fixtures will then be placed on the website, with the Referees name attached.

3/ Teams are then required to telephone their referee by no later than 9pm on a Monday.

  ( or 6 days before any match takes place - including midweek fixtures ).

4/ If the appointed referee has not received information from the home team by 9pm on the Monday,

  ( or 6 days before any match takes place - including midweek fixtures ).

  he will then inform me as Fixture Secretary and I will notify the Disciplinary Secretary accordingly.

All teams are reminded to only use the referee`s that are registered with the Paisley & District YFL.

Anyone found to use a referee that is not registered with the League will be subject to appear before the Disciplinary Committee and any match played may be subject to be replayed.

No referee appointments should be made without receiving the permission of the Match Secretary.

In the event that you cannot contact the Match Secretary, you are asked to contact Elizabeth Canning.
